On most of my consultation calls or just general chats with charity workers or nonprofit professionals the conversation ALWAYS veers to tech tools and what I think is the best. I have actually started to compile my library of RESOURCES for you to have for quick reference if you ever need a vetted nonprofit recommendation.

BUT when it comes down to it, what do I really think you need to invest and put your time and admin funds into? Let’s unpack and learn the top 3 tech tools worthy of your funds as a nonprofit.

TOP TECH TOOL #1

A Good Website

I mean you knew, once again I was going to say this but why? I have written loads of blogs about this but it really comes down to this. Your website works for you when you aren’t. It establishes legitimacy, it proves your impact, and the need and connections between yourself, community partners, potential funders, and volunteers. It’s an invaluable tool that needs to be polished, connected, and updated regularly. Check out these other blogs where we go over the Donor Focused Experience and why you should have a great website.

TOP TECH TOOL #2

Google Ad Grant

If you aren’t aware, as a 501c3, you qualify for a FREE Grant of  $10,000 EACH MONTH in google display ads. That’s right! $10,000!!!! I talk more about the program and how to get going with Nonprofit Megaphone on this blog but this grant in conjunction with your website can literally bring donors, volunteers, and foundations to your doorstep 24/7. This is money spent well, for your cause and frankly, it’s kinda silly not to be using it!

TOP TECH TOOL #3

Donor Management System

Once you get the donations, have volunteer interest or need to send an in-kind letter. How can you do that? Well, you need a banging Donor management system and I have two that I love!

DonorBOX - Has donor cover fee features, lots of integrations and connection capabilities and embeddable forms which is my sticking point. There is room to grow and lots of add-ons that make this great for start ups and small nonprofits.

DonorDOCK - Has much of the same features as DonorBOX but just a bit more. They also are a bit more a month (though there is a Free VERY basic version that is practically identical to DonorBox) that unlock email marketing, acknowledgment letters etc. They also have embedded features so I am happy and donor cover fee nudges so you can float more of the admin cost. They believe in connecting with other providers and make it easy.

Having these 3 top tech tools really will set your nonprofit apart and in good standing to crush your goals. You will be able to use these resources as the building blocks of your digital ecosystem and grow from there. IMHO, these items should not be skimped on or passed up.

If you need help setting up your Donor Management or want to char more about DonorBOX, DonorDOCK and Nonprofit Megaphone don’t forget to reach out. Always happy to help!

ALWAYS on your side + team

Cheers,
