4 REASONS WHY EVERY NONPROFIT NEEDS A BANGING WEBSITE

There are many reasons why any business, entity or organization might need a website but here are the reasons a Charity or Nonprofit truly needs one.

This week, let’s walk thru the reasons you will bring to your board when asking for funding for website and digital presence.

#1

It establishes credibility

Gives people a place to “creep” before they give. I keep saying this but you are asking for people to donate with nothing in return. In order to unlock that $$ and engagement, you need to appeal to ALL of them by hitting each avatar button… giving for taxes, giving for feeling good, giving for altruism, giving for social connection, giving for impact and… dun dun dun… giving to only those they TRUST.

A donor-focused website establishes a button and appeal to donate and volunteer for each of these avatars but it also establishes that trust. Make sure to have your reports, and transparency on your site too! It allows visitors to scope you out. But do you want to know what most people look for BEFORE they put in their credit card info? THE HTTPS or Lock on the website browser.

Making sure your website hits all of these security and credibility marks is super easy on Squarespace and with my 3-Day Templates. Working with me also ensures you have these items checked off too.

YOU NEED AN UPDATE IF… WEBSITE DOES NOT HAVE:

  • HTTPS

  • ALL DONOR AVATARS COVERED

  • DONATIONS EMBEDDED ON SITE

#2

It makes your cause REAL

You obviously have a heart and passion for your cause. The people or purpose you serve. But I guarantee a part of any mission or vision statement for a charity or NPO is awareness. Giving yourself a digital platform that works with your charity to bring that awareness is vital and priceless.

Utilizing internal systems on Squarespace like the blog, (to blog or post news/ articles) video blocks, (to share youtube videos) and the events integration helps to get the word out seamlessly and with a fraction of the effort.

  • BLOG/ JOURNAL/ NEWS

#3

It reaches more people

Not everyone can go viral and maintain their top ranking on Google but you can reach more and create a larger impact on your cause by having a great website.

Having a place digitally that reflects authentically what you do, will only reach more people intuitively. Your passion, your interest, your heart WILL shine thru. Having a consistent and organized place for a donor or volunteer to take action on will only create a larger and lasting impact.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA CONNECTED

#4

It works when you are burnt out

Burn out is REAL in the NPO world. You are often doing so much for those who need it the most.

Having a website that is connected, integrated, beautiful, optimized and functioning to run and grid when you simply “cant” any more is the best gift you can give your charity workers.

This is honestly my speciality. Making sure that all of your systems are working correctly so you can get back to changing the world instead of doing monotonous admin tasks.

YOU NEED AN UPDATE IF… WEBSITE DOES NOT HAVE:

  • INTEGRATED + OPTIMIZED FOR DATA FLOW

So there you have the reasons to give to your board for why you need a budget for a website.
