WHEN I THINK ABOUT BOOKS I TOUCH MY SHELF
I am a ravenous book reader. Its kinda a hobby, obsession, escape… all the above. So when I came across this quote or saying years ago online.. I couldn’t help but giggle and I knew it had to be apart of my business somehow.
DID YOU KNOW? That the first iteration of The Charity Design Co was called Calliope.Design? I worked under the alias of Calliope.Design for YEARS and after so many people not being able to pronounce it and also being done denying my love of helping charities, I switched gears and names. BUT did you know that while under Calliope.Design that I donated hundreds of dollars to literacy charities as apart of my business model? I just love reading and I love supporting literacy.
SO WHY BOOK AID INTERNATIONAL? I loved their mission to give people around the world who lack access to books the opportunity to read for pleasure, study and lifelong learning. One location they work in, Zambia has received over 700,000 books, enriching the lives of those they touch. Empowering them to reach higher, dream bigger and find peace and comfort between the pages of a book.
My BOOKS design supports literacy through BOOK AID INTERNATIONAL. Their mission is to give people around the world who lack access to books the opportunity to read for pleasure, study and lifelong learning. A portion of each sale after costs of each item will be donated back to BOOK AID INTERNATIONAL.
