FREE Photos for CHARITIES!

We all know that charities need to be mindful of their spending. Rightfully so! You need every penny to go to your good cause and changing the world. Below are some of my favorite free locations on the web to get free assets for my charity clients. I have seriously used these for years and for many of them, not spent a penny on image assets. Check out my trusty image toolkit for charities below.

#1 UNSPLASH

Unsplash is so awesome. Its such a great and more “artsy” alternative to more stock looking images. The images do tend to be a bit more adult so viewer be aware if you are looking for child charity images. Just look with a cautious eye. When searching through these databases, search terms are not quite like googling. It might take some time to get used to how you should formulate your inquires and then you will become a pro! Seriously, unsplash is banging! Videos are also on here for great banner options.

#2 PEXELS

Oh my trusty Pexels. How I love you. While these photos tend to be a bit more on the “stocky” side, you can still find some really good options. Oh yeah and remember they are FREE! Again, remember search terms are not quite like google so the learning curve can kinda be a bit hard at first but you will get the hang of it. Also like Unsplash, there is a trusty orientation filter AND color which is awesome. Also, don’t forget that color can be a very useful search term when looking through thousands of images. Again, videos are also on here. Become a fan of some absolutely fabulous photographers all over the world.

#3 BLUSH ILLUSTRATIONS

Blush is a blast! But caution, you can get lost and waste a bunch of time in there. Its not because it is not super user friendly or easy to navigate but rather so much fun! There are quite a few ways they try to upset you so make sure to stick to the free options and dont get distracted or sidetracked.

So there you have my favorites! Places that I literally use every week if not every day for my Charity Design Co clients.
