DOES YOUR NONPROFIT NEED A NEW WEBSITE? ENTER TO WIN A FREE CHARITY WEBSITE HERE

Believe it or not, we have actually been doing this for YEARS.

Obviously, The Charity Design Co has a heart for service & charity. This heart has lead to an annual tradition of donating our services of a website for a single registered non-profit.

So what’s the deal Dani… How do you do this? How do we apply? Qualify? When will we get the free site? Are there any fees?

LET’S DIVE IN.


WHY DO I EVEN DO THIS?

I GET IT, IT KINDA SEEMS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE TO BE A DESIGNER + CREATIVE FOR CHARITIES THEN GIVE IT AWAY FOR FREE

I mean, you are not wrong. But here’s the deal. Not all charities can afford (cough) or convince their board that my services are necessary. Also, my services are out of budget for many NPOs starting out and sometimes, all you need is someone to believe in you to get you started. I am more than happy to offer those charities my cheerleading services, tech skills and neurotic color mania for free. You are welcome!

AND then, guess what?!? I have a new lifelong friend and happy client who happily passes on referrals directly to more in my key market. 😉


HOW DO WE QUALIFY?

THIS PART IS EASY

Are you a 501C3 with a letter in hand? GUESS WHAT?!? YOU QUALIFY!


HOW DO WE APPLY?

Applications are rolling entry and open year-round. You are welcome to reapply and your application stays valid until you are selected.


WHEN WILL WE GET THIS NEW SITE?

Selection happens late summer each year with project building happening the month of October, with the launch by halloween. This would mean that the website would be LIVE in time for GIVING TUESDAY & all of your holiday needs.


ARE THERE ANY FEES WE HAVE TO COVER?

YES, THERE WILL BE SOME SMALL THINGS THAT I CANNOT COVER FOR YOU

This is not because my charity has run out but rather because legally, there are items that YOU need to hold. Please check out the FAQ below for those items.

THE BELOW ITEMS WILL BE EXPENSES THE CHARITY NEEDS TO COVER + ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AWARD

$$ | Squarespace Account | *Required

  • Squarespace account (you will need a business plan or higher - VIEW THEIR CURRENT PRICING. If you pay annually, you get 20% off because you worked with me). BUT Wait to purchase the Squarespace plan AFTER we get started unless you already have a LIVE site.

  • Depending on your needs: I might direct you to some other add-ons and options that Squarespace offers internally that will work well for your charity.


$ | Domain (URL) | *Required

  • Domain/or url (if you dont already have one, you can get this thru Squarespace too) This is www.YOURCHARITY.org

$ | Integrations | Possibly Optional

  • This will all be dependent on your data architecture for your individual charity + nonprofit. Feel free to sign up for my Toolbox here to see my suggested integrations for the best data flow and automations for charities specifically. If there are other integrations, plugins or wishlist items that I do not already have in my arsenal, you will need to purchase those.

$$ | Premium Stock Imaging | Optional

  • We will pull from your images + from free sources. However, if you need specific images, those licenses you will need to keep and purchase on your own.


THE BORING BITS

  • Selection of winner will be based off need, existing presence, cause, size, scale & social media activity 😉

  • The previous year’s winner helps in selection.

  • 501C3 Status is required for all applicants and must be maintained throughout the entire process. The project will be scheduled to start and end within the month of October, ensuring you are launched and ready for #GivingTuesday and holiday gifts.
